The Story

Meera and Hussein chose us for their wedding in April 2017 held at the magnificent Chelsea Harbour Hotel in London. Intimate London wedding venues are always that little bit more special, with the whole family gathered together to celebrate the special union. They wanted photography and videography for their big day with influences from a number of top photographers to match the style the mother of the groom was after. Whilst also taking time and paying special attention to all the important cultural details.

Our two person crew arrived at the venue early  to ensure we could capture all the decor of the venue before the guests arrived and to document the bridal and groom prep.

The wedding day started off  with the family photoshoot in the penthouse suite. The photographer and videographer moved between each of the groups to ensure they captured this aspect of the day.

Once everyone had arrived it was time for us to cover the Zaffa ceremony, a traditional procession involving drums, swords and dancing. Shortly before this, the groom’s friends (over 50 of them) surprised the guests by wearing a mask of the groom and dancing around the dance floor in a circle before the groom revealed himself in the centre.  Afterwards, the Zaffa began with the bride entering the room.

After the traditional wedding ceremony, we took the couple out for a photo shoot around the Chelsea Harbour Marina at night.  Once the speeches were over, it was time for the cutting of the cake with a Sword (who needs a regular cutting knife!). Finally it was time to cover the first dance complete with a fog machine across the LED sparkled dance floor. It was a truly spectacular night to remember.

Overall the day was a big success, with our clients and their luxury wedding planner, Emily Goldney, thrilled with the photos and the way we captured their special day.
